Charles Vess started drawing the moment he could grasp a crayon and crawl to the nearest wall. As he got older, he left the crayons behind to bring us his astounding 45-year career that has won him multiple Eisners, World Fantasy, and Hugo awards to name just a few. His mind has landscaped our imagination for almost 5 decades. That hasn’t left him a lot of time to break out the Crayolas…UNTIL NOW! This workshop includes everything you need to color along with the Fairy King.

Everyone gets a box of crayons, a coloring page picked by Charles himself and 1 hour to color your heart out! Charles will be taking questions and dishing out color theory tips throughout the event and will sign your completed masterpiece! Event is Saturday from 3-4 in room 104! Supplies are limited, so make sure to mark this down as a must attend event for ROBCON 2023!

RobCon 2023 Offers Dramatically More Board and Card Games, Tabletop, and Video Gaming

RobCon, the Tri-Cities largest and longest-running Comic and Pop Culture Convention, is excited to announce the addition of a large number of gaming events, including console video games, board games, roleplaying games, collectible card games, and miniatures games. Mountain Empire Comics, the annual convention’s primary sponsor, has partnered with Wolf Den Games (Abingdon, VA) and The Gamer’s Lounge (Bristol, TN) to make this year’s con even more exciting for passionate fans of every variety. Wolf Den Games and The Gamer’s Lounge first added more gaming to Rob-Con in 2022 when it moved to its current location of the Higher Ed Center in Abingdon after a pandemic hiatus. “This year we almost tripled our tabletop gaming offerings, and we are so excited about it”, said David Carroll, co-owner of Wolf- Den Games. “Whether you want to bring your dice for a Dungeons & Dragons adventure, find a pod for Magic: The Gathering “Commander”, take part in a massive Warhammer:40K tournament, or learn to play a new board game, we’ve got you covered.” The Gamer's Lounge is Bristol’s go-to place for competitive gaming. According to the owners, James Malone and James Matherly, “TGL's core model is to bring competitive gaming back to human-to-human gameplay!” They will again be running casual and competitive console video game events at Rob-Con. “From Smash Bros to MTG Commander, we have something for anyone to enjoy! We cant wait to see you there!” . Gaming event reservations can be made at
